Pyramids of Güímar

In the city of Güímar on Teneriffa (Kanarische Inseln) there is a large park, which has created some interesting structures, which are important astronomical data for sound: the Pyramids of Güímar, also known as Majanos de Chacona.

They are located in the Ethnographic Pyramid Park of Güímar, which covers an area of over 64,000 square meters. In this large area there are several sites, such as the Chacona-Haus-Museum, where all the research for the six pyramid-shaped structures are presented. In addition, it houses one of the largest photo exhibitions of the world’s most famous monuments.

The park also offers a Panoramaterrasse with spectacular views; an Auditorium, where a documentary film about the theories of the Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl, the founder of the Ethnographic Parks, will be shown; and an Expedition Hall, where photographs of the trans-oceanic expeditions, which were taken in primitive boats, can be seen.

In the park there are four outdoor routes that can be used:

– The botanical route, on which the endemic species of the canary flora are to be seen.
– The export route, which shows the most important products of the Caribbean economy of the last five centuries.
– The cultural route, which has been the history, culture and ethnography of the Kanarischen Inseln since the emergence of the archipelago.
– The Vulkan Route, which offers the Vulkanischen origin of the archipelago and the Vulkanischen Ereignisse.
